 What  is a Conservation  Easement?

A conservation easement is the legal document entered into by a landowner and a qualified land conservation organization, such as Yampa Valley Land Trust.  Through the conservation easement, the landowner places a set of restrictions on his or her property in order to preserve its conservation values.  Each conservation easement is unique and specifically tailored to the land being conserved.  The conservation easement applies to the current landowner and all future landowners and permanently protects the conservation values of the property.   The landowner continues to own, manage and use the land held in conservation easement.

IF YOU ARE A LANDOWNER INTERESTED IN

CONSERVING YOUR PROPERTY, PLEASE CONTACT
